EASY F

Last night I watched the movie EASY A with two good friends of mine,and I was shocked at the truth behind it. This movie touched base with many annoyingly honest issues in highschool. I this movie a girl named Olive decides to help a friend who is tormented for his sexuality. Pretending to have flings with social outcasts to help their status, Olive soon found herself being mocked  and shunned for being a so called "slut". This movie brought to my attention four main problems in highschool.
 Rumors being the first topic, I feel that i should point out that at no point did Olive actually have sexual relations with any of these guys she simply had rumors. The whole ordeal stated with her bestfriend having a big mouth, and ending up with the whole school thinking she had sex  with a college guy. The Rumors that spread caused Olive to be subjected to public rejection and humiliation.
 Next we have Bullying. The reason all these people asked Olive to lie for them was because they were being bullied  at school everyday for one reason or another. What is so sad about the bullying is that not only did students bully other students but the teachers bullied students as well. And as soon as Olive would pretend to have sex with them the bulling  would quickly stop because suposedly that person was exstordinarily good at sex.
 When it came to the point that Olive couldn't  take the ridicule anymore she went to each and every person who she had helped and asked them to tell the truth and when asked the pathetic people gave her one of three answers, "i already paid you.","no one will believe you.", or "but I'm so popular now.". One person just flat out ran away with his gay lover. I think the worst response she got was when a teacher she had lied for told Olive that it was her own fault for lying for  the teacher and that Olive had to live with the consequenses of that lie. Dishonesty is a disgusting trait in people.
  My forth and final point to reach is the slanderizing  and revolting portrayal of teenage christians in this movie. My reasoning for this is that in this movie christians are portrayed as people who sit in chastity circles and sing bible songs while lifting themselves on pedistals about anyone who is not christian. They are actually the people who s[read the original and further rumors about Olive and they are the same people who torment Olive calling her a slut and adulterer. What makes me sick to my stomack is not that they are portrayed ths way, but rather that the person who wrote this movie was right. I'm not saying all christians are like this but I am saying that a mass number of christians claim their faith but act in such ways that makes others detest the idea of Christianity.
  The movie  EASY A  was very funny and somewhat inspirational in Olive's determination for redeption. But it points out so  flaws in teenagers that are true that i couldn't help but find myself upset.
