don't judge a person by their skin.

Racism. Most people, when asked will say they are not racist.But i rarely see a person who won’t say “hey,look at that snobby rich white girl” or “i bet that Hispanic man is illegal” or “i bet that black man has killed someone before”.It is pathetic how shallow people can be yet how deeply immersed in the judgmental society of the world they are. In the riveting book,perfect chemistry by Simone Elkeles, this problem is brutally confronted.
In perfect chemistry, a young Hispanic man falls in love  with a white girl from his school.It is not until the racial barrier of society is broken down between them that each of the two lovers find the true person  behind  the skin. A person who can love and laugh,cry and comfort, and see the other person the way they are seen.

This quote between Alejandro and  Brittany shows that   he is questioning her will to fight for what she wants. His character displays that of someone with exceptional character,which in our society is not expected of someone of his race which proves my point that the racial profiling exhibited y our society is disgusting.

Next time you look at someone don’t look at the color of their skin look at who that person is judge them by their actions not their appearance you might surprise yourself.

I,too, sing america

In "I, Too, Sing America" by Langston Hughes the flout and gasconade tones reflect the boy's feeling of  not being wanted but knowing that the tables would soon turn. He is aware that he is looked down upon and he uses this to drive him to out preform his opponent. He is confident so much to the point that he becomes arrogant in his actions and knows that once he has won no one will dare question him.
